The latest research has linked periodontal (gum) disease to systemic manifestations in the body such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, pre-term low-weight babies, and inflammatory disease. The presence of bleeding in the gums represents the presence of an active infection, and it must be properly treated as early as possible. The latest research also shows that gum disease is caused by the formation of a very intricate architecture of bacterial colonies called Biofilm.

What Does ‘Restoration Dental’ Mean?

Welcome to our first edition of the Restoration Dental E-Newsletter. For our debut, we have chosen a rather interesting introductory subject: “What Does Restoration Dental Mean?”. Surprisingly, some people may think that ‘restoration’ means ‘cosmetic make-over’, yet it actually describes the entire spectrum of dentistry, everything from simple cleaning, to fillings, to complete cosmetic make-overs!
